Swapping on and across Mantle

Mantle is a Layer 2 that scales Ethereum with a modular design. The detail worth knowing before you swap is its gas token: unlike Arbitrum, Base, or Optimism, which all pay gas in ETH, Mantle uses MNT. So you need MNT on hand to transact, not ETH.

Otherwise it behaves like an EVM network: familiar token standards and addresses, low fees relative to mainnet. The MNT gas requirement is the thing that trips people expecting an ETH-gas rollup.
